There are certain advantages in travelling alone. First of all, you start noticing things: Italian girls, for example, appeared to be very cute. Secondly, you can forget the necessity of making an impression and stop thinking about your apperance, that makes life a great deal simpler. Thirdly, you can calmly keep the desired silence — sapienti sat. Last but not least, you can feel free to speak Italian, however barbarian it really sounds.

But then, there are certain disadvantages as well...

Опыт одиночных странствий показал: главный недостаток в том, что не с кем разделить всю радость путешествия. В какой-то момент это стало сильным разочарованием, очень захотелось потянуть отсутствующего друга за рукав и вместе увидеть то самое. Все остальное - здорово.
